Describe Everything is born from a love of audio description and the belief that everyone should be able to access artwork. I aim to describe a wide range of artworks - all of which are in the public domain or I have permission to describe.
I’m happy to take requests for specific artworks or for a general kind of artwork. Just get in touch via describepodcast@gmail.com.
About Audio Description
Audio description is a way of making the visual, verbal.
Describers turn the visual information that sighted people receive into either recordings or live presentations, mostly for people who a blind or have low-vision. This way, everyone can enjoy/discuss/despise/learn about art.
Audio description exists to serve blind and low-vision communities, however, it may also be useful for neurodivergent people, and may be of interest to anyone.
AD often takes a “say what you see” approach of purely describing the appearance of something; I do try to stick to this but I also incorporate relevant information about artists and historical context.
